Meet Marc Cohodes: The Man Who Got Cannabis on Robinhood

Former hedge-fund manager Marc Cohodes is back — and yeah, we’ve got a lot to talk about. Glass House Brands (OTC: GLASF) just became tradable on Robinhood, meaning everyday investors can finally grab shares in one of the biggest US cannabis producers. Host Shadd Dales and Anthony Varrell get Marc Cohodes’s unfiltered take on whether Robinhood is the first domino in a bigger retail-access story, and if cannabis investing is finally going mainstream.

This one’s all about momentum in the cannabis space and what feels like a real shift in the market. Friday’s podcast of Trade To Black, presented by Dutchie, takes a closer look at something we haven’t seen before.

In the face of frustration over stalled legislation, Cohodes claims progress is already being made behind the scenes, pointing to stock trading platform Robinhood, and their recent decision to begin trading Glass House Brands. It’s a move Cohodes says he helped orchestrate. Now Cohodes is pushing for a landmark meeting to forge a formal coalition between top hemp and cannabis operators, emphasizing shared goals such as eliminating synthetics, enforcing age-gating, and enacting product traceability through blockchain.

We also revisit his earlier prediction that rescheduling could be announced by Thanksgiving.  Does he still stand by it? He urges the industry to stop bickering and start collaborating.

And then we get into what Gretchen Gailey said on our previous live stream — a take that definitely ruffled some feathers. She argued that hemp would be easier to regulate nationwide than cannabis, and that the Trump administration isn’t in any rush to move forward on rescheduling

Guest Mark Cohodes pushed back on her pessimism Marc weighs in on all of it, pushing back on her pessimism. But he agreed with one core point: that the simplest path to legalization is adding cannabis to the 2018 Farm Bill alongside hemp.

Hear Cohodes’ thoughts, straight up, no filter. Markets, politics, timing… it’s a conversation you’ll want to hear.
