Among the latest headlines: why SAFE Banking is “not imminent,” and how the House Speaker could influence the proposal. Also, New York’s booming tax revenue and the governor’s aggressive enforcement. And finally, the big leadership move at LeafLink, the wholesale marketplace that powers over 40% of the cannabis supply chain to get Artie Minson. Recent market volatility has affected a number of sectors, including cannabis. However  there have been a number of developments that held sway, including positive legislative movement in Florida and New York. In Florida, State Senator Joe Gruters introduced a bill allowing home grow (two plants per person) and regulating hemp-derived products such as Delta-8 and Delta-10. New York’s cannabis market saw notable tax revenue growth, with the state expecting $161.8 million this fiscal year, a significant increase from $43.3 million last year. Projections estimate $248 million for the next fiscal year and $374 million by 2029.

In the interview with Artie Minson, the President and COO of LeafLink, we discuss the company’s recent growth and its role in addressing fragmentation in cannabis technology. Artie also explains the role of data and technology in optimizing the industry, leveraging machine learning to provide actionable insights into inventory management, pricing, and market trends. He highlighted the importance of partnerships and free-flowing data between platforms in helping them maintain their edge.

On the Hill, we’ll explore why a bipartisan cannabis banking bill in the 119th Congress—often called the SAFE Banking Act—is “not imminent” despite growing pressure for federal reform and how Republican leadership and new House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) could influence the banking bill’s future, even after President Donald Trump’s campaign-trail endorsement.
