Jushi Lawsuit Targets Hemp Industry in Pennsylvania

Wolovec explains that Jushi has been conducting due diligence for more than two years on the proliferation of unregulated smoke shops across Pennsylvania. The lawsuit marks the first time a cannabis MSO has directly challenged intoxicating hemp sales in state court, and Wolovec says it won’t be the last. He expects follow-on litigation in other states soon, noting the case aims to set precedent that could be replicated nationwide. He emphasized Jushi’s focus is not on compliant hemp operators, but on “bad actors” selling products contaminated with pesticides, heavy metals, or THC levels above legal limits.
