On our Wednesday episode of Trade To Black for August 7, 2024, hosts Shadd Dales and Anthony Varrell talk about some of the latest buzz in cannabis news for this week. Tuesday, the state of Ohio launched adult-use marijuana sales in 98 stores, and Shadd made a special trip around the stage to see firsthand how the launch of recreational cannabis was doing. He’ll share the insights from what he learned.
Politicians on both sides are leaning into the idea of more liberal opinions on cannabis, with Trump wishing to leave it to the states, and JD Vance echoing the Dems sentiments that no one should be in jail for cannabis. Even Fox Business News was talking about cannabis regulations, inviting Tilray CEO Irwin Simon for a segment. Simon had a chance to discuss Tilray’s growth as a beverage company and how they’re on to a $1bn run rate.
Earnings reports from the cannabis industry continue apace, and we continue to report on some of the most recent. Not only will Shadd and Anthony comment on the earnings reports recently released by Trulieve (OTC: TCNNF), Ayr Wellness (OTC: AYRWF) and Verano Holdings (VRNOF), they’ll discuss which company they feel has performed the best.
Be sure to catch their thoughts. TDR will also have another video sharing Shadd’s experiences at three dispensaries in Ohio on opening day.
