Ryan Crandall Talks Strategic Development for MariMed

On this episode of TDR’s Trade To Black podcast, we’re back with another canna exclusive. Today we interview Ryan Crandall, the Chief Revenue Officer of MariMed. MariMed released their Q4 and FY 2023 earnings earlier this month, and there were some numbers including double-digit revenue growth for the sixth year in a row. Ryan Crandal joins us at the mic to give us a behind-the-scenes look at MariMed’s strategic development and the wholesale opportunity in the state of Illinois.

We dive into the triumphant return of Betty’s Eddies, a popular edible, which was relaunched at the beginning of this year. The products are being welcomed back into doors in Illinois—over 100 stores in two months, Ryan Crandal says. Betty’s Eddies is leading the way for the product portfolio there.

The state of Illinois is one of the most lucrative markets in the US for any MSO, not just MariMed. What makes it that way? Among some of the reasons are a large population that is interested in cannabis, lots of interstate traffic, and plenty of cannabis tourist potential. Also among the reasons why it is a hot market: there are fewer than two hundred licensed dispensaries selling cannabis products in the state as of early 2024, meaning each dispensary has less competition for sales. MariMed currently has 5 stores there out of a maximum of 10, and this is part of their growth strategy going forward.

Be sure to tune in since Ryan Crandal explains what investors should know about the company, and more on MariMed growth and strategic development, including the latest Thrive store in Casey, IL, which is right by the border of Illinois and Indiana. This is a great location with a lot of potential, and you’ll find out why.
