Why Cannabis Didn’t Get Airtime During The Presidential Debate
Democratic Leader Kamala Harris and Republican Candidate Donald Trump spent 90 minutes answering questions in a fiery exchange of opinions during the first presidential debate in Philadelphia Tuesday. Wednesday’s Trade To Black Podcast has hosts Shadd Dales and Anthony Varrell breaking down what happened. Despite speculations that it could be, cannabis, unfortunately, was nowhere on the topics of debate. Neither was crypto. We also discuss the latest industry news involving Ascend Wellness (OTC: AAWH), Green Thumb Industries (OTC: GTIBF) and Trulieve (OTC: TCNNF).
Dan Ahrens from AdvisorShares (NYSEARCA: MSOS) joins the show to give his take on how marijuana will be perceived moving forward heading into the US 2024 Election. Will cannabis legislation ever be mentioned prior to November 5th, either inside or out of future debates?
Ascend Wellness, a vertically integrated operator with assets in Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Ohio, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania, just opened its 39th dispensary in Whitehall, PA. The company is planning grand opening festivities for September 13th. The Whitehall dispensary is the fifth in the state and their 39th overall in their footprint.
In Florida, Green Thumb Industries opened up their 20th location just in the state of Florida. The new RISE dispensary will be located in Jacksonville. RISE Dispensaries is a leading cannabis retail chain owned by Green Thumb Industries Inc, and the new location brings the total number of RISE Dispensaries to 20 across Florida and 98 nationwide. Grand opening festivities will be on October 13.
