Don Murphy Sets The Record Straight On Current Administration

Happy Friday, hope you had a great week, and welcome to TDR’s Trade To Black Podcast where we bring you the latest in tech, psychedelic, and cannabis news. Today cannabis lead lobbyist Don Murphy joins us at the mic once again to talk about the current administration’s hypocrisy when it comes to federal cannabis policy. Also, huge news from Europe: Germany will now be one of the select group of countries and jurisdictions with legalized cannabis policies in the EU.

GUAP and Shadd Dales unpack the news of Germany’s parliamentary vote on decriminalization and recreational use, which happened just this morning. Medical marijuana has been going strong there for a while, and Germany represents half of the MMJ market with some 230,000 patients. 2023 sales, GUAP points out, were around $430m USD. Rec use is big, since Germany currently has the 4th largest GDP in the world. Tune in to hear all about it and what the timeline is for it to go into effect.

There’s salt regarding some of the comments made by the Biden administration, and some of the expectations that have resulted from that. We welcome in Don Murphy to find out what’s going on. As one of the people regularly present at the Capitol in the matters of SAFE Banking and cannabis, Don Murphy has shared his thoughts on rescheduling with us before.

Earlier this month VP Kamala Harris posted a video on X which said “We changed federal marijuana policy, because nobody should have to go to jail just for smoking weed.” There’s been some concerns about the comment being misleading, and possibly a risk to the progress of the SAFE Banking Act. Catch the VOD of the conversation and our thoughts on the political ramifications, and the questions that some of our viewers posed during the live stream.

Where can cannabis go from here? We’ll talk about steps that the administration should be taking, and what this means for the election in 2024. Don’t miss out on this conversation about cannabis and the current administration with Don Murphy!
